The Golf comes with an FMIC (Front Mount Intercooler) as standard.

I think you'll find that the twintercooler is fine for your car even up to stage 2+.
Be aware that a "true fmic" will leave you with the dead weight of your present IC.

Thanks for the replies so far I am meaning true as in not sandwiched inbetween radiator etc and actually front mounted in the lower grill section of the bumper and not twintercooler as this mixes warmer air with colder air surely if it was purerly front mount this wouldn't happen also the stoc ic I image would weigh not very much and if u wanted to could be removed

Like I said, a "true fmic" will leave you with the dead weight of your present IC.

Easiest option if you want one would be the bsh version http://dubtek.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_38_40&products_id=267

Here is one with my custom lower grill in,

struggling to find one where you can actually see it with the standard grill in.
