Am not sure if the standard ride height of the GTi and R32 are the same, I lowered mine 30mm front and 20mm at the back on 18" eta45 8.5 wide, I get rubbing on a full load on the rear wheels only on speed humps.

I've got some 8.5" wheels ET45 in the garage and I'm lowered 40mm.
Never had rubbing on the Rear???
Most people get some rubbing on the Front, but after the screw mod all is fine.

I think your prob must be your tyres? (not sure though)
Are you running 235 tyres?

I have always bought 225/40/R18 tyres not 235's  :happy2:

Am on 225

Rubbing does not occur when am on me own, only happens on humps with passengers or a heavy load in the boot.  However if i crawl over the humps its doesent always happen.

Im lowered on H&R Springs over 18in Monza wheels. No scraping whatsoever  :happy2:

its worth doing the arch screw mod while your wheels are off though . . . .

whats the front arch screw mod?? thanks

The screw delete mod is real easy. There are 2 screws that need removing from the front wheel arches.
(one screw on each side)
These screws are the only things that will cause any rubbing when the car is lowered.

If you jack the car up and take off a front wheel, it will only take you about 5mins to complete  :happy2:

Feel under the lip of the wheel arch (in the centre of the arch) and you will feel the offending screw. You can also get your head under and see the screw.

Remove the screw. Then squeeze the arch liner so that it pops behind the arch lip. Then gently bend the piece of metal (that the screw screwed into) in a little. The will make sure that the liner never pops out from behind the lip.

Put the wheel back on, and then do the other front wheel.

Job done.   :jumpmove:
