VW Racing parts
« on: March 06, 2012, 01:11:15 pm »
Hi im looking at changing a few things on my GTI, so does any body know which exhaust VW racing sells for the MK5 GTI ?  (ie miltek, supersprint etc)

Same goes for the panel filter ? ( K&N, pipercross etc)

Then it will be super chip.

I only want to use this kind of stuff as VW use them, so there should be no issues.

Exhaust could be a re-branded milltek, looks similar, but them most do on small pictures , looks like all their products are re-branded form other manufacturers?

Think the exhaust is milltek but they use a shallower box that doesn't stick out the bottom of the rear bumper. I think redrobin was running this at one point or still might be

Correct  :happy2: There are a few of us on here running the VWR system. I am very happy with the sound mine produces :)

....I'm still running mine and am still very happy with it, but it's custom and also has a shallow rear box with quad exits.

Milltek are one of the VW Cup sponsors.

When you purchased your vwr exhaust system is there an option to have a shallow box or is it custom made? How much are these systems as there aren't any prices on that site. Thanks

....I didn't buy it from VWR, I have known Milltek since 2005 and this was the second system for the Mk5 which I have tested for them. Obviously being on long term seasonal testing it was free. This second system was particularly testing ceramic exhaust tips - The previous powdercoated tips didn't fare well in the winter conditions.

You would have to speak to Milltek or VWR to see if what you want is available and at what cost - Probably best to phone or email Milltek.
