ford fiesta zetec-S no machine detail
« on: March 06, 2012, 05:28:15 pm »
hi guys,

here we have a metalic blue ford fiesta zetec-S....and its a bit strange but i like it  :ashamed:

anyway the point of this detail is to spruce the car up ready to sell, ive opted not to use a machine on this car but use various techniques and products to enhance the cars paintwork as the owner doesn't want to spend to much cash on a car the he's selling   :happy2:

the car was in a pretty sorry state and i have to be honest its the worse i have ever seen for swirl marks and hologram's  :scared: but its to be expected for a car of its age

anyway onto the pictures...But please note this isn't a full detail just more of spruce up, me and the owner of the car took the time to asses the paint and we came up with a cost effective detail which will consist of a wash,de tar, clay bar,pre wax cleaner, and 2 coats of wax

here is the car on arrival

i told you the paint was bad....would have loved to have had a bash at it with machine but this isnt the point of this detail

so first up we started with the wheels using bilberry wheel cleaner and EZ detail brush and valet pro wheel brush and vican brush on the arches

once wheels were cleaned there was still lots of tar which will be dealt with later

onto pre wash using autobrite magifoam

seals and shuts were cleaned using G101

once the car had been rinsed it was then washed using dodo juice super natural shampoo which i bleeding love
the car including wheels was then coated with a spray of IronX and then tardis

the tardis and IronX worked great on removing the tar on the wheels apart from some minor bits which good old elbow grease can sort

sorry for the lack of pictures but there isnt really much to see anyway but the car was clayed to remove the rest of the tar using Zaino clay bar and dodo juice born slippy

once i was happy with the car and the tar situation i then rinsed the car again and bought it inside and dried the car ready for a pre wax cleaner,
i dried the car using a dodo juice supernatural drying towel and i then used dodo juice lime prime as my pre wax cleaner
once dodo juice lime prime was applied i sealed the wheels using autobrite veryberry and wolfs tyre dressing on the tyres
the glass cleaner of choice was autoglym fast glass and rubber seals were treated with gumi pfledge

sorry for the lack of pictures on the above but time was pushing on  :sad1:

here is the finshed results  :happy2:

As for the choose of a LSP we opted for collinite 476S and zaino grand finale
I'm very pleased with the results considering the time we had
Hope you enjoyed reading  :drinking:

Great little cars, I had a silver one for years, bought it at 18 months old and did a 100k in it, other than servicable parts it needed nothing ever done to it.
Laser Blue 3dr No 209683, Leather, Monza II's and a few other goodies...........GONE but not forgotten......now in an A4 S-Line Avant 170tdi......god I miss the Gti.

Wheres the best place for the g101, tardis and Iron X?
I've got a couple of polishing machines and loads of waxes and sealants, but havent even opened the boxes for a year or so, think its time to give the car a good once over

I think the 1L are available now which is good as 500ML only lasts a few cars, Try waxamomo for tardis and elite car care for ironX  :happy2:

Jack, what about those plastic tray things? Drive the car on to it, wash the car and drive off. All of the fluid can then be collected and disposed of.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Same thing as above. Couldn't remember what it was made of! I think one of the pros uses it because their unit shares a common area with other units, which is where the car is washed.
