Goodwood track day (advice on brakes please)

Hi there !

I'm new to the site and posted a message about the cam belt service. Wanted to know if anyone can reccomend a good GTI specialist to do the work in my area (Sussex)

But.... I also have a track day booked down at Goodwood next month. Have done a few before in other previous decent cars I've had, so I know the brakes are gonna get a beating.

Can anyone advise me on some uprated pads as mine are starting to rumble anyway. Thing is the missus takes the car to work daily so she won't be happy with anything too harsh / noisy / sqweeky. I'm sure there must be someone out the who's been in the same situation before.

Would it be worth doing all the pads or just uprating the fronts and getting new OE on the rear?

Decent fluid will probably be an idea too, again any ideas would be appreciated???

For everyday use with light track work I think Ferrodo DS2500 pads on the front only will be perfect.  Alternatives like MintexM1144 are also pretty competent.

But, I would also advise changing your brake fluid as that's another known weak point.  Try Motul RBF600 or 660.  Goid value and won't boil onyou

Might be worth a trip down the A27 to JKM in Portsmouth. They can probably help with braking advice as well.

You don't need uprated rear pads, save your money there - For the front I'd have Pagid RS4-2s, personally.
