If you look on my 330mm brake conversion thread in Performance Mods - you will see a brake disc in zinc primer - then in VHT aluminium later on with the masking removed. Quite easy to mask....put tape all over the friction surface - overlapping inner and outer edges.

Then with a real sharp knife  - working away from you - trim off the tape a bit like trimming the pastry off a pie! The inner one just follow the recess as best you can.

Milltek tbe, Forge intercooler, AMD map, Eibach Sportlines, Porsche 996 over AMG 330mm homegrown BBK

With the NQSBBK you also need to paint 10mm of the disc surface. Not as easy to mask. All sorted now anyway. :) looks sh*t until the pads wear the small extra bit of paint off.

I painted mine with some matt black paint (not even VHT) seem to be holding up well, look much better than rust!

If the paint fails i'll be stick some hammerite on them  :signLOL:

Well, they look perfect now. Paint on disk surface nicely worn down, perfect edge. Really pleased with how it looks. Might need a touch up from time to time.

Same as mine  i'm surprised really because the paint I used isn't VHT and i've done some very spirited driving and the paint is holding up well!  :happy2:

Its not paint as such. Its more of a zinc based anti corrosion finish
