Cambelt change - extras???

I'm getting the cambelt changed on my GTI but do I need oem/specialist coolant too??

Ideally you should be replacing the water pump at the same time. This would mean new coolant along with the change. Always better to renew it periodically anyways.

Had mine done the other day as part of cam belt/water pump change.Genuine G12.

does anyone know how much g12 is needed I know ratio is  1:2 but how much is needed to do a complete change?

.........under 2 bottles i think. It's only around 6 quid a bottle so won't break the bank.

what would happen if you renewed the engine coolant with NEAT G12 and didnt dilute it?...

..........not shure to be honest but possible cooling problems?. VW recomend using water as well as coolant.

your supposed to use deionized water with the g12 coolant
