Best track day tyres for road use!

Strange question. Surely you want the best road tyre if that's what your driving on.

r888 didnt give me any grief, even in the wet they wernt to bad. You got AD08 i believe they are also good. Look on tyrereview sites.

I know some people are runnng Toyo T1 Sports on the track and rate them for grip etc.  I use them on the road and cant fault them one bit.

Used to run R888's on my S3 for years which made a huge difference and superb on the road, I have a set of 888's waiting to be fitted to the Mk5 so a big +1 for 888's from me.

Depends whether you hammer them on the track or use them solely for the road,  I only used to run them on the road and I'm sure I used to get 7000+ miles.  Best to ask SteveP as i'm sure he has run few a through sets for mainly track work.

If you drive like a maniac on the road i'm sure you will easily get 5000+  :happy2:

they are by far the worst tyre i have ever used.  i took them off after about 4000miles.  Good in standing water and thats where their talents ended IMO.  Show them a dry track and they just overheat

lol not yet as were just coming out of winter and running 888's on wet roads drive me crazy, to be honest I want to find a spare set of wheels for them.

I found the opposite as far as standing water goes,  In the S3 it used to aquaplane like there was no tomorrow (R888).


Edit...  Whoops just realised you were referring to the Toyo TI Sports.
