Had my the DMF/Clutch replaced on my brothers A4 recently.... was quoted north of £900 for the parts alone from Audi....
ended up getting the parts around £350 including all the bolts etc (this was for an LUK kit)
when we looked at the old ones they were in fact stamped LUK! yeah they had the requisite audi logo/part numbers stamped but importantly they had been manufactured by LUK...
the parts themselves would be 100% identical... if you've got a reputable garage fitting it, go with the ECP parts and enjoy the extra cash!
if it turns out the ECP kit was a dud then thats just a tough draw, the one that you would have got from the VAG dealer could just have easily been a faulty one too! all down to the knowledge/experience of the mechanic mostly and 'luck' as to whether or not the part was faulty in the first place
(i also had an LUK kit fitted to my Mk5 2,500 miles ago - not a problem since!)
