MK7 GTi. 4WD Version?
« on: March 10, 2012, 01:59:25 pm »
I've read in a couple of mags that there will be a 4wd version of the MK7 GTi.

Does anyone know if there is any truth  in this?

Wouldn't a 4WD Gti be ace.

But...I'd guess that VW will follow the well known format of a FWD Gti and a 4WD 'halo' model under the (higher priced) R branding. But as said that's just my guess.

Really looking forward to MkVII Gti, can see me lusting after a Ed40 if that gets built !!!!

It would indeed Bernhard. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right though. 4wd makes winter conditions so much more enjoyable, and let's face it, we are in winter longer than any other season in this country!

Ed40 is almost inevitable, VW wouldn't miss out on a marketing opportunity. The last report I read was 260 bhp for the standard GTi!  That'l do nicely!
