123d is a great car, gear ratios can be frustrating, but thats about it, the engine is fantastic for a 4 pot diesel, mpg is about 15 up on any of my previous cars in different driving conditions, which doesn't sound a lot but it is 150 miles per tank which costs about £65 to fill, i always said i wouldn't get a diesel but i don't regret it, petrol is the better engine for driving enthusiastically and i would never track a diesel but for what i use a car for these days, the 123d is way better then any hot hatch.

If you look at the power curve in the vid I posted, notice how much like a petrol the bhp climbs all the way to the limiter, gives this little oil burner a great revvy feel.

would be nice to have some company on here :signLOL: its funny as on baby bmw forum, most 123d owners have come from hot hatches, it seems a logical step to me.

I think you'll be impressed mate!  :happy2:

His @ Stage 1 is claimed to be around 250Bhp and is just as quick as my Golf at any speed under that at which you'll be worrying about dropping the soap if you get caught..

Steering feel and handling is miles apart though  :happy2:

i tend to get between 15 and 20 more then i did in the meg, my average is 45 which was 26 in the meg, tbh the gearing is different to the 120d, so on motorway its not as efficiant, but i am very happy with 45 mpg, depends how you drive like all cars, in the specs 50 zones it gets 65 mpg all day long, lad on forum reckons on the autobahn he sat at 130 mph for an hour one night and got 28 mpg, which i can believe, drive one mate but they do take some getting used to, first and second are pointless and in the damp it bites :signLOL:
