when i went to chorley i was getting 56mpg at 70mph i know the new gtd are a lot better on fuel than mine

I thought that until I lived with one for 2 weeks. And I have a 3-year-old and a 4 week baby.

Granted though, they're not as practical as a Golf, but I was surprised. Superb car.

Cant get 3/4 full sized adults in it with 3/4 musical instruments though.... thats why the car i have is perfect, except its nasty drink problem.  :signLOL:

A good mate of mine has a mk6 Golf GT TDI 140 with Dsg  which has been mapped so is approx 175 bhp and a good few torques.

but also returns great mpg,  on a trip down from yorkshire to london the other night @ 60mph (due to fog) it averaged 72mpg.
  the normal average on the car is 55mpg though
