Outer CV boot gaitor torn
« on: March 13, 2012, 07:51:30 pm »
Hi, had my front tyres changed the other day and noticed my outer cv gaitor had torn and leaked a bit of grease on both sides.
I dont know how long it has been like it but should I get the cv boot changed or new driveshafts as I don't know what damage is already done...

Any help would be much appreciated

Rob

Is the joint bone dry inside? if it is or if there is play in the joint then fit a new joint, if not just replace the bolt and re grease ASAP

I have no idea I'll have to have a look. How much is it for a new joint then?

Where do people on here buy there parts at a good price because I doubt everybody use the stealers??

Thanks again!

If your just replacing the boot id use TPS, motor factor boots are crap TBH and dont cost much less than OEM ones

as for a joint i think id call GSF for a price and TPS and make a choice from there mate

I got an advisory on my mot (25th may) my hasn't split yet, it's just deteriorated. The dealers want £150 for parts and fitting. Is this a sensible and fair price or should I look for a good indie
