I don't deny Alonso is a talented driver.

He just annoys me with his attitude.

He's had a great attitude the last two seasons. He had a bad time at McLaren, people need to get over it ffs.

I don't know what seasons you've been watching but he does nothing but whine.

I'll name a few

"Felipe, Fernando is faster than you"

Hamilton overtook the safety car (which at the time he was in his right to do as it hadn't crossed the line on the track. Alonso then spent the next 7 laps complaining which made Hamilton get a drive through (which never affected the outcome as Hamilton was still ahead)

Australia this year he told his team not to talk to him for the last 20 laps

Numerous occasions in the last 2 yrs he has refused to do press interviews because he was upset with something.

So yeah his attitude has changed loads :stupid:

Hamilton and others may complain etc but not to the extent Gonzo does. He is a very sore loser, thinks he is a better driver than he is (granted he is still very good) and the only reason he left McLaren is because they wouldn't pick him as the No.1 driver.

Your about the only person I know that actually likes him (although I think it may be love  )

well monaco is a great track for the atmosphere and an amazing circuit for the drivers but it is dull as fuggery for anyone watching on TV - there was more overtaking on the procession lap  :sad1:

It just doesn't suit the modern day F1 car, they could have had DRS all round the circuit and it would make no difference.

He's pretty down to earth in my opinion. The above examples are what would be construed as "passion" if he was an Englishman, but because he's got history with Lewis (who in my opinion has a far, far worse attitude that Fernando) and drives for Ferarri he's a marked man.

Only just caught up with the GP as I've been away all weekend, and to be honest I wish I hadn't bothered!!  :indifferent:

What a dull boring race procession!! How can they call it 'Racing' when overtaking is all but impossible?? Ok so the mega rich demand the GP circuit visit there every year, but for the avid fan/spectator its just dull!!

Oh and staying in the garage during Q3 should be banned!! How can you then benefit by putting whatever tyres on you wish to start the race when every other driver/team who has gone out and entertained the crowd with a proper top ten shootout should then have to start with the tyres they qualified on?  :stupid:

^^^^. Couldn't agree more with the above.

Just finished watching the and what utter s**te. Only saw the highlights (thank the lord I didnt have to watch all of it) but did not see ONE SINGLE overtake in the whole race, got to be a record even for that place!!

My main beef (so far) this season, same as last, is the tyres and the fact it seems to be more about conserving them than putting in fast laps, overtaking and GOD FORBID racing each other!!!

Oh and Alonso IS a t**t. Yes, he is a cracking driver and may well win many races and championships but that does not mean that he's not a t**t!

ETTO but I find the "Plucky Brit" routine as depressingly mundane.

What the Monaco GP lacks in overtaking opportunity it very much makes up for in driving skill and atmosphere - In my opinion.

I watched and enjoyed Quali, the whole race, and on BBC's Red Button.

The BBC team's presentation was especially good.

In fairness Rich I think I'd moan if the team were costing me points through stupid errors/decisions

Maybe... but theres no point it coming across as a nob on camera, because when you eventually drive for a decent team you'll have lost all of your fans  :happy2:

Not having so many fans doesn't seem to bother Raikonen.

I saw the short interview with Lewis by Lee after the race and he merely came across as disappointed that he hadn't finished higher than he started. That's something which is totally normal to feel for any competitor in any event whether professional or amateur. But if you start off not liking someone it's much more difficult to be truly objective and revise your opinion.

It's ridiculous for us to base our character judgements on such short isolated snapshots. Overall, Lewis is a great racer and a human being with normal emotions and a genuine love for what he does for a living.
