Button's title was due to exactly that.

Very true.  In an average racecar he is simply average.

Unless Button can set his car up perfectly he is soooo average and spends the entire weekend doing nothing but moaning about it :indifferent:

Hamiltons grid drop was harsh, its not even Merc's fault :stupid:

Anyone but Vettel to win today, i wanna see webber vs vettel part 2

Glad to see Vettel win - He drove well and deserved it.

Gutted for Massa and also disappointed that Alonso wasn't able to solve his DRS problem.

Some very close and exciting racing throughout.

Felt disappointed that Raikkonen made it onto the podium.

Hamilton did well and his 5 place penalty was clearly OTT.

Button made to look ordinary again. I thought he was supposed to be super smooth on his tyres... 4 pit stops?

Redbull are just boringly too fast, i think the FIA should just ban Adrian Newey, he's far too good with a pencil and a piece of paper.

Hamilton 4-0 Mclaren

Raikkonen is class, would like nothing more than to see him at Redbull next year as long as hes given the same car as Vettel.

....No more "bizarre" than someone who doesn't like Seb Vettel hoping he doesn't have racing success. Or Alonso in the past, or.... etc etc.

....In all the pre season interviews I got the distinct impression that Jenson was talking down to Perez and considers him his #2 driver.

I have a lot of respect for Jenson but Perez was under a lot of pressure to perform well and by beating Jenson he did what he was supposed too even if it was a bit dirty.

I disagree. I seem to remember you were pretty quick to defend Alonso, stating that his personality traits are the result of his Catalan upbringing, yet your dislike of Kimi seems to stem from his dry, uncomfortable demeanour in front of a camera, something that is pretty typical of Nothern Europeans. Mika Hakkinen was very similar.

Seems pretty contradictory to me.

I read an great little article in the F1 magazine last month about the two different types of cornering. The two types being something like:

Continuous cornering(or words to that effect)  ie travelling around the corner in one continuous and smooth steering movement without steering out of the turn until they make the apex.

and

VEE cornering (or words to that effect) ie breaking a corner into 2-3 separate blocks in which you turn and then straighten the car before turning again in multiple blocks.

It goes into some interesting detail into how they do both and the benefits on tyres and speed etc, but basically all the fastest drivers on each team seem to use the VEE method, and the slowest use the continuous cornering technique.  I havent got the magazine anymore since my wife decided i obviously no longer wanted it, but iirc the list was:

Continuous method;

Button
Massa
Di Resta
Grojeon
Rosberg
and a few others that no one cares about.

VEE Block method;

Raikonen
Vettel
Hamilton
Suttil
Schumacher
and a few others no one cares about.

Interestingly they say Alonso and Webber dont fall under either as they utilize both methods.  I cant remember the other drivers within each but typically the fastest drivers adopt the VEE technique and the same thing seems to apply to previous drivers as well.

Really so smooth cornering is not the best method

Looks that way.  Its just like trail braking into a corner in a FWD car is a much faster way of cornering than driving in a smooth continuous turn.  Continuous and smooth cornering is probably better for the tyres and wear and tear, but ultimately it seems like its just not as fast
