I know they have always been great cars no matter what daft press they get, but they have never turned my peanut. Until now.  :popcornsoda:

By all accounts this is a fantastic new car.

Still doesn't do it for me, boxer now says poor mans porka due to the "brand" they have been given, it's wrong but on the previous model its true, it may be a great car, RWD, powerful (ish) but for the money I would never consider the boxter
So many other cars that will be better value for money,
I'm not a fan on porsche in general tho...can't seem to grasp why the front looks like the back  :signLOL: but they are getting better I must say, the new stuff does start to look pretty good!

Love it and 100% with him on the suspension and steering as that's how the new 911 was for me last week just so nice to drive

Mods yes but way too many to stick in this little box

the boxster is a superb car!

the amount of people that look at it as the poor mans 911 blah blah blah  :indifferent:

its the wrong way of seeing it. Its an amazing way of "mr average" affording the badge and more often than not a safe introduction for ladies to climb into one without the stigma of not owning something more serious from the model range.

i wouldnt own one personally though, not my cup of tea as i prefer older Porsches, but on face value for what they are i think theyre great

As a 2-seater open sports car I think it's great too. Generally I love Porsches and the Boxster has in the past been my least favourite.

Not mad on the front end, I think it's loosing it's 'porsche identity'

Sounds like he liked it anyway, I wonder what options he went for on his freebie boxer? ;-)

I think Porsche has done well here

The original Boxster was conceived as a cheap(er) car to get Porsche's cash flow circumstances in order. But they've managed to make it a reputable model in it's own right. It's a different product to the 911.

I wouldn't own one tho because if I wanted a sports car I wouldn't buy a convertible. I'd own a new Cayman in a heartbeat tho

I love them. Plus, if you want a drop top porker, it's the only car you can buy. A 'vert 911 stinks of fail.
Sideways yo!

I must be getting old, cause a Boxster S looks very appealing now.

My 60+ year old father in law has a Gen1 Boxster S and whilst not the quickest thing in the world, (the Ed30 would 'have it' before mapping commenced) it's a lovely steer and the feedback through the whole car is very addictive. Plus it makes a lovely noise for a 12 year old car..

To me the new car has a slight look of the BlueSport Roadster concept, but that might be cars getting more square shoulder and wheels towards the corners etc..

Poor man's 911!!  Well, call me poor then, I'd have one and be well chuffed with it.
