Slight knocking from front at low speed
« on: March 15, 2012, 09:29:35 am »
Hi guys have a slight problem which I don't know wether to worry about it.
I have a slight knocking coming from my front wheels when I turn my steering for example when I am parking up at home.
Now I hear it could be the subframe bolts, is this a serious matter?
And are they easy to get to to check and change if need be?
Many thanks in advance!

The subframe bolts are an easy fix, Mandy I think it was had a thread going about it with PNs etc.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon!

Got this as an ongoing problem with mine and so far have changed topmounts, bearings, sub frame bolts even the air freshner  :innocent:  :signLOL:

My car is lowered and only started doing it after that so after getting everything looked at and the obvious things changed or checked i'm stumped....... please let us know if you find a cure as i think a few others were experiencing this too

I've got this too

I get a "click" when i turn right (on roundabouts etc). It doesnt do it just going over bumps or potholes, only when theres a shift of weight from one side to the other

Don't get any noises on roundabouts or turning the wheel left or right or when parking  :stupid:

After getting my new front tyres fitted they noticed my cv boot was torn and leaking grease so they told me I would need new cv boots on both sides. Anywho I thought rather than changing just the boot I would change the whole cv joint because I didn't know how long it has been running contaminated for.
So I ordered 2 new cv joints and bootkits for £45 delivered and got a local garage to fit them for me.

Now I was just getting used to the knocking sound and accepting it. But turns out it has been fully cured and was the cv joints all along.
So anyway I'm a happy bunny now my car doesn't feel like something is going to break!
