Anyone with a paint depth gauge nr Wolverhampton?
« on: March 16, 2012, 04:09:14 pm »
Afternoon all, has anyone near Wolvo or Stourbridge got a paint depth tool that could do me a favour and read the depth of my front wing please?
Just been to Wolvo Vw to see if I have a warranty claim on the front wing rust, they've told me i need to go to Shrewsbury to have it read but they think it has been resprayed already. Rather than me trek to Shrewsbury to be told where to go is there anyone local that could check for me??

Also dropped in at A1 to get a price on a refurb, looks like overtime for the next 6 weeks as the set they had in with black inserts looked loads better than mine!  :sad1:

Black inserts look ace, and A1 are one of the best places to get it done, diamond cut again or just a similar colour to what is there? worries me too much to get the whiteworm back again to have them diamond cut.

RE the depth gauge, speak to Russz in the detailing section, he is only in Walsall and has one. :happy2:

Cheers Al, I will pm Russ...

V.J at A1 doesn't think I have an option but to go back to diamond cut, mine look to have been painted before in a sh*t refurb! Until I put a diamond cut next to mine I didn't realise the difference in finish was so big. I'm going to look at what inserts would look best against laser blue, my gut says gunmetal but I'm going to do a bit of searching while I wait for spring & warmer weather to come!
