Hello there,
Up for a detail is Johno's Black Edition 30.
He dropped it off and it looked like this
So then it was onto a snowfoam and rinse down. Then washed with two bucket method. Wheels cleaned with bilberry, arches done with Megs Super Degreaser.
The car was then clayed. This proved to be the worst car to clay off, the passenger side was terrible!
It turns out that there was CV grease up the side of the car. I didn’t know this until id finished getting it off. I struggled on with tardis, fine clay and aggressive clay in parts. the rest of the car was as expected, not too bad
all the dried on CV grease
After all that was done, probably took 2 hours to clay, I dried off the car with some more last touch and a miracle dryer.
here’s the state of play with the Paint.
sanding marks
After measuring the paint, it was all to be expected. there was one light spot on the bonnet but nothing I couldn’t work around, and nothing too out of the ordinary.
I briefly had a play around with polishes, but resorted to my favoured combo of Fast cut plus and Extra fine compound on a yellow waffle weave pad.
This got rid of The vast majority of defects. there were some RDS scratches left, but you really had to look for them. This is exactly what john what after, and I’m sure I can say he was more than happy with the results.
the car was then cleaned up after the correction, it got very dusty!!
The car was given a thorough wipe off and a wipe down with IPA
The car was given 3 coats of Zaino Z5 Sealant.
The alloys were given two coats of Zaino Clear Seal along with the front grills.
alloys dressed with poorboys tyre shine.
the exhaust was cleaned with Autosol + 00 grade wire wool
the lights were also polished too
Here are some of the after correction and finished pics
this is where the sanding marks used to be! ;)
You can't beat xenon’s on a mk5 golf gti with freshly detailed Diamond Black Pearl Paint
finished pics
I know the focus is out :(
Total work time 17.5 hours
Thanks
