best way to wire my amp

I have an aftermarket stereo, standard speakers and an RE audio 8" sub with a rubbish amp to power just the sub, recently i blew the amp up so ive decided to buy a cheap 4ch amp to power the speakers and sub.
Its not the best amp in the world but ive read good reviews and for £16 im not complaining.

amp specs:
Maximum Output: 600W total
4ohms Maximum Output: CH1 110W, CH2 110W, CH3 190W, CH4 190W
4ohms RMS Output: CH1 45W, CH2 45W, CH3 65W, CH4 65W
2ohms RMS Output: all 4 channels 60W
4ohms Bridged RMS Output: CH1-2 110W, CH3-4 110W

The sub is a dual vc 4ohm 175w rms. So im wondering which is the best way to wire this amp to get the best sound without blowing the speakers.
I was hoping of keeping the stock speaker wiring so dont want much more power than standard, any help would be great cheers

Ch 3 & 4 to your sub
Ch 1 & 2 to your front speakers.

ok so i bridge 3+4 to power the sub, am i right by saying then i need to wire the sub parallel to give an 8 ohm load? is there no way of getting a 4 or 2 ohm load with this sub?

Will the stock speakers be ok amped up?
(probably sound alot better but will they blow?)

Ive got a really nice pioneer 4ch amp and 12"sub thats not been used for about 7 years. I've thought about putting in the Golf but I'm not sure if it worth the hassle.

Same again, If I did fit it, would it be better in 3ch with just the front and sub, or forget the sub and use the 4ch's for the stock speakers.

Plus I wouldn't know how to wire it to the RNS510 without RCA's 

I really don't want to start buying new speakers cos that will just result in me spending more than I should.
Just thinking I might get some use out of what I have.

yeah theres not alot about amping the stock speakers or what i have found everybody says there rubbish! Well with what light i have left now i am just going to amp the front speakers and see how it sounds, if its not too bad then i would consider a better amp and soundproofing the doors. Either way i will let you know the results mate

well much didnt get done atall partly because of being presented with a whopping steak sandwich  and then it getting dark but mostly because im baffled 

So i took my headunit out and there is just 1 sub pre out, i thought there was always 2? Obviously not anyway but if i wanted to bridge channels 3+4 which channel do i connect the sub pre-out too?

Your Headunit will most likely have 3 sets of pre-outs - Front, Rear and Sub.

Front pre-outs from the headunit to the front pre-outs on the amp controlling channels 1 & 2
Sub pre out will go the rear crossover on the amp controling channels 3 & 4..

You'll be running in tri-mode.. with the rear channels bridged to run the sub..

On the actual sub - Connect the positives to the positives, and negatives to the negatives of both VC's... 

Personally.. imo.. the stock speakers are pretty crap.. but if you want to power them you will get a bare minimal advantage... Just be sure to start off with the gains tuned low and work your way from there..

wonderful for some reason it really baffled me, I will pick up an rca y splitter tommorow connect to channel 3+4 and wire the sub parallel to get a 2ohm load which im guessing will get me about 150w rms.
Yeah well i should be getting rid of the car in a couple of months for another golf so its only a tempory fix untill then, thats when i will spend a bit more cash on the audio  cheers

F.A.O Monty, with the amop wired up it does sound much better, if you've already got most of the bits id say go for it, i already had everything and won the amp on ebay for £16 so it was definately worth it for me. But yeah there is much more bass and many more tones. If you are looking for better sound quality then your'e best off starting with the amp anyway then moving onto speakers and sound deadening. As for using a sub also, it depends how much bass you want, ive got a little 8" re audio sub and it gives me perfect bass but im sure if i upgraded speakers and sound deadened the doors i more than likely wouldnt need it.

I used to be into all the ICE in the 90's on various cars I had. Thing is I always had quite top end head units with all the preouts in the back, so it was just a case of sticking in the RCA leads.

Now with this VW head unit (rns510) there are no preouts so it will prob involve chopping into the wires and using some sort of RCA adaptor leads.

Don't suppose you would know how much this sort of job would cost to get installed professionally?

I want the amp fitting and the sub wiring.

I think it would be better in 3ch mode, but I could prob do with speaking to a pro about it, cos I will prob upgrade the front components at a later date. 

Thing is I don't want to go crazy and spend alot. I would just like to use the amp and sub that I have in the garage.

Correct me if i am wrong but i always thought if you ran a amp in tri mode the bridged side was already running at a 2 ohm load before you played with the speaker loading so running a dual 4 ohm voice coil speaker wired in parallel would give 2 ohm and then hitting this on the amp would push the amp to a 1 ohm load.

If you drive along with the stereo booming out for a few years you will likely end up like me "Mutton Jeff" in any sort of background noise situation!
