Stage 2 on stock exhaust damage
« on: March 20, 2012, 11:57:45 am »
Hi guys, im putting the car back to standard and removing the decat downpipe.  I have stage 2 software and wanted advice would i be ok with this or would the turbo damage itself?  I just cant be bothered getting it unmapped as such.

Any help appreciated

Regards

Andrew

I ran a stage 2+ file on my Octy VRS for 2 months with no HPFP or exhaust and I had no problems.  Though if you are selling on I would disclose it has a stage 2 map or pop to the dealers and get it reflashed for a small fee.

The exhaust gas temps will be too high for a standard cat. You will have to get the stage 2 map taken off!

An update would over write the map if there are any available.  Id tell them you want it re flashing and how much it would cost if there are no updates.  My cat was not damaged by the increase in EGTs as it passed the MOT with flying colours. However I did remove the pre cat so the EGTs wouldnt be as high as one with the a pre cat fitted.

I ran stage 2 Revo on my old Octavia on the standard exhaust system for well over a year with no problems.
