Portsmouth things to do??
« on: March 20, 2012, 07:15:55 pm »
Hey folks

I'm going to be booking my car into JKM for some work soon so im gonna be spending the day down Portsmouth :happy2: Just looking for ideas on things to do whilst im down there as I may aswell make the most of it :happy2:

Now im going with the missus so was thinking, get car done, head to the aquarium, spinnaker tower for a coffee and look then head home

Anyone have any other suggestions? something that I would be gutted I missed if I didnt go. I was thinking about a Harbour tour on a boat but I dont think she would be too impressed :stupid:

Town centre ain't the best so I would head to Gunwharf Quays is a type of outlet shopping centre, but its by the sea with plenty of bars, restaurants, casino, cinema and I think you can go up the Spinnaker Tower if open.

Done it a few times myself, even went over on the ferry to the isle of wight one day..
GTI Edition 30 - Reflex Silver now gone but not forgotten - Cooper S JCW now.

Walk from JKM to Hilsea station 10-15mins at most and get the train to Gunwharf as James said. Plenty to do.  :happy2:

They also have a Polo courtesy car you can borrow. Not sure if it's free or not.  :happy2:

Spent the day in Portsmouth the other week while JKM had my car for the day.

Kate called us a taxi to Gunwharf - £7.50 each way

Walked round the shops, had lunch in Jamie's Italian, went bowling, bought some stuff, had a coffee in Cafe Nero, and that was the day gone!

There is a cinema there too if u fancy that.  :happy2:

Do they??? Not sure i'd need it though as my car wont be that long. How far is Gunwharf quay from say the Aquarium and historic harbour??

Cheers that's the kind of day my missus has in mind but I can't help but think a trip to that area would be wasted spent shopping, with all the attractions etc in the area. Not saying there's anything wrong with it but i'm coming along way just to shop

Historic Dockyard and Victory are just round the corner. Don't know where the Aquarium is unless it's down Southsea.

I think the Polo courtesy car is 12.50 for the day . and you have got to put the petrol back in that you use.
