Some of the third-party App developers are calling the 'New iPad' the iPad 3. This makes much more sense - What are we going to call the New iPad in the future? The old new iPad?

Ive more frequently heard it referred to the 3rd Gen iPad, which makes far more sense to me. Gets around it being called the iPad 9 in 5 years time, which just sounds daft.

Agree entirely. Apple should drop all numbers from the end of their devices. Its an iPad, plain and simple. If peolpe ask which one, its a 3rd generation.

They already employ this with the iPod Touch and the iPod Nano. So hopefully, they also do this with the next iPhone. And refer to it as the 6th generation.

I agree too. Perhaps Apple will call the 4th generation iPad the 'New iPad' too, then it'll make sense.

Agreed... we don't call it the Macbook Pro 4 or Mac Mini 3.

Another thing, it takes bloody ages to charge!

Make sure you only use the new charger and cables that came with your iPad. The old cables and iPhone chargers don't work on the new iPad for some reason.

Colleagues at work would not charge at all on his iPad 2 leads.
