Done :) found it on r32 forum

Couldn't find the fault though.

I have a vw iPod adapter fitted and the past couple of days it hasn't been recognised so was kinda hoping a blatant fault.
But everything seemed ok!

It came with my car when I bought it a year ago! It just plugs into te rear of head unit then into a little black box then onto a white iPod connection, I just assumed it was a crappy aftermarket one but when I looked just then it had a vw sign.

So don't know what model it is, but all I know is that it's been working fine for 10 months! And now it isn't lol
