I find I get better results if i clean the wheels first and then use Iron-x on the clean wheel. I was amazed at how much crap was on what I thought (and to the naked eye) were clean wheels.

I haven't done mine now for over a month but I did seal them all with FK1000p so when I do my 3 day detail in a couple of weeks it will be interesting to see how the wax has held up.

The will be getting stripped back and C5 applied though.

What about if you have Gloss Black alloys?

It still works Steve. It's just you won't readily see the iron deposits without getting really close or running your fingers over them.

I've seen a couple of threads over on Detailing World were people have used it on GB Alloys.

Steve, the iron particles are still there and can still marr a beautiful finish. Admittedly, they will be more visible on lighter coloured wheels.

I used iron-x on my DBP car and couldn't see any purple reactions. It was only when I rinsed the car down did I notice that the rinse water was purple!

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
