One thing I don't believe is the old revo outperformed APR on awesomes rollers during the amnesty.

That was a big marketing ploy, they could eadily have altered readings to make one map look more favourable.  The only thing worth reading were some of the impartial reviews that were done by guys on here.

Plus if ApR were that much slower they wouldn't lead the 1/4 mile board by half a second, and that's bearing in mind that 2nd place is a heavily stripped out ed30 on semi slicks driven by a racing driver, and the 2nd and 3rd are 4Wd S3s one of which has a big turbo.

All I can say is I was in the back of my car when mine went from APR to REVO (ko3 stage 2+)  and after the click of a button on a laptop to upload the REVO file it made more power.  No adjustment was made between runs on the RR.  Unless it was by the force

Although I'm a very happy Revo user, this subject isn't really about which map is 'better' between Revo and APR, nor which is the cheaper. It's more important that we, the consumer, are offered the choices and that a local and hence convenient tuning business can offer us the choices and not confine themselves to just one product....  And then muck folks around by chopping and changing back and forth like Awesome have done.

Very good point RR and I did mention this when i had my talk with Mark. He did understand that there could be a massive fallout because of what's happened with the switch around, and admits that they (Awesome) will probably lose out on software sales because of their decision.  His reasoning was about the outlook of the VAG tuning market (5 years +) and felt they had to make that decision or be left behind. I guess purely because of the hardware and products that APR/VWR will be offering in the coming years plus the exclusive products only available through APR/VWR dealers

Me too Lee. I had heard about the exclusivity deal between VWR and ITG and couldn't help but think ITG have screwed themselves. Let's hope not...

I went to Awesome yesterday to have a chat with Mark about what was going on, it lasted the best part of an hour and said that he will do the same with anyone who wants to have a chat, even if it take him 6 months.
One thing he did say is that REVO is a fantastic product and would never say a bad word about them.  
This is MY interpretation of the chat with Mark in key points.
APR's willingness to listen to issues (UK specific) and be able to deal with it in MK.
The shear size of what APR has grown to.
The hardware.  ie if you want a itg filter you will have to get it through APR/VWR (less stock already held by other tuners) plus other VWR branded products

Basically Mark/Jim feels that its in their customers and their own interests to get 'back in bed with APR'

As for the 'why cant you sell both APR and REVO side by side'  well, in my view only and how I interpreted it, is, that part of the deal with APR is that PSI tuning and JBSautodesigns (close to Awesome) would not be able to sell APR produces and software anymore if Awesome dropped REVO.  I might have that totally wrong but thats how I saw it.

So unless I read your interpretation very wrongly, Awsome would only drop REVO if the other 2 companies dropped APR making them (Awsome) the only APR retailer in the area?

Good luck to APR and Awesome, It was a very good combination in the past and should again.  I am sure Jim would not do a huge U-turn without a lot of thought and putting customers first.

At the end of the day it aint about dyno numbers or fastest 1/4mile car... It about happy customers.






If there are any Revo customers left a little high and dry from this switch back, you can always pop to us for continued support, updates and back up for your Revo maps

Awesome says "We have spent the last 12 months partnering Revo Technik, whos products and service have been fantastic"  I dont think they have a problem with their software.  Saying that, I never had a problem with APR software, I just made slightly more power on REVO's k03 stage 2+ file

Thats how it came across.  Like I said earlier, it maybe wrong but ultimately business
