Just an extra 10 ponies, as I said...

I've heard several different stories, one set of journos reporting, as you say, a minimal increase, and the other reckoning around 260bhp. I hope it's the latter.

Fun Golf: 2016 mk7 R DSG 3 door. Work Golf: 2015 mk7 1.4 TSI GT ACT 5 door.
Gone but not forgotten : mk2 Golf GTI 16v, mk4 Golf V6 4Motion, mk5 GTI Storm Developments Stage 1, mk5 GTI Revo Stage 1, BMW 330ci, Skoda Octavia VRS Revo Stage 2, BMW Z4 Sdrive35i.

It won't be...

Car has a German correspondent who seems to be quite cosy with the manufacturers and gets a lot of info out of them. I think I'd be more inclined to believe him than Auto Excess or the like.

Only time will tell.  :popcornsoda:

If the VXR is a decent drive, as it looks like it will be, and with 270 odd bhp and good looks, The Golf could be so far off the pace as to lose significant sales volume to the Astra. Right or wrong, stats still sell cars.

Oh, and I don't read Auto Express!

On that we'll have to agree to disagree!  :happy2:
