After yesterday's meet at Coombe Lodge, I've had some ideas about my exterior mods.

I really like gloss black features, and in a nod to the gloss black on the grille surround, I'm thinking of going gloss black on the wing mirrors, side skirts and converting my Monza 2's to Shadows with gloss black inserts. Side skirts is a bit controversial, but it's different, and I don't like full colour coding on shadow blue cars.

I'd be interested to hear what you think.

I have the mirrors on my shadow blue which I love, but for me that's as much as I'd do.

Milltek tbe, Forge intercooler, AMD map, Eibach Sportlines, Porsche 996 over AMG 330mm homegrown BBK

Each to their own I guess!  :happy2:

Good luck with the remap and future mods!

Oooh yours does look damn sexy, admittedly! May have to rethink that one. I don't want to leave them as they are (dark grey) when I'm going for a black gloss theme. They will either have to go gloss black or colour coded. I could do with seeing a 3 dr in Shadow blue with colour coding.

Good luck with the remap and future mods!

Thanks mate, remap is on Monday  :jumpmove:

Since my last post, the car has had PDT Stage 1 software installed at Storm Developments in Aldermaston, near Reading. (I have written a review, and will post it once they have sent my charts over).

The car feels amazing, having limped in to Tim at Storm with 177bhp and 158 lb/ft torque, and a split old-style diaphragm DV, and left with 240bhp and a REV D DV and 250 lb/ft of torques! The car feels totally transformed, and genuinely quick at all points in the rev range and in all gears, but especially from 30 mph. I am totally in love with my car now, and all previous thoughts of chopping it in for a Mk4 R32 are long gone.

I've also bought a WALK from Bendy, and am hoping to ge this fitted before my driving holiday/romantic-weekend-with-the-Mrs to North Devon next week.

So updated build plan is as follows:

Done

PDT Stage 1 remap
DV Rev D
Change Cam Follower
Pipercross panel filter
Rear arch rust

To Do

WALK (purchased, arrange install)
Brake upgrade (NQSBBK, if this fits under Monza 2's)
Get Mrs (The Kerbinator) in Econo-box
Repair door strips from parking ding damage
A1 Wheel refurb with Aston Martin Lacquer, and gloss black inserts
Colour code bumpers and skirts
Gloss black mirrors and front splitter, and centre of rear bumper, )
New driver's seat cover and foam bolster
RNS 510 Audio / SatNav
Professional detail for bodywork

Fun Golf: 2016 mk7 R DSG 3 door. Work Golf: 2015 mk7 1.4 TSI GT ACT 5 door.
Gone but not forgotten : mk2 Golf GTI 16v, mk4 Golf V6 4Motion, mk5 GTI Storm Developments Stage 1, mk5 GTI Revo Stage 1, BMW 330ci, Skoda Octavia VRS Revo Stage 2, BMW Z4 Sdrive35i.

....With the Exmoor road numbers I'm gonna PM you, I hope she doesn't suffer from car sickness!

You are definitely now on the slippery slope of modding!
