i could only imagine what would happen if a tsunami like what hit japan hit this country.

As it would hopefully wash up the Thames and wipe out the Houses of Parliament it might actually does us all a favour

Actually I don't think we brought it on ourselves after all a bunch of tanker drivers said they were going on strike.

The Government in their wisdom told us to panic buy now you have the results of that.  :rolleye:

My car only has fumes in the tank, but as I have no job to go to and no money to fill it it can stay like that!

....Ooops! That doesn't sound too good, Simon. You got some sort of prospect?

And the government are laughing due to all the extra excise duty due to everyone panic'ing..

Dates have never been announced as to if or when this could actually happen, so there's absolutely no justified Rush just yet.

So which part of that did "we" cause?

We are only guilty of reacting to the information presented by the powers that be. They should be hung for a complete lack of common sense and duty of care toward the general public.  :stupid:

Well, I filled up to the brim yesterday and again today after about a 150 mile blast (some of which was with a Golf R which try as it may, couldn't lose me). Queues were short and no shortage of V-Power. A Shell tanker rolled in while I was there today.

since when did the government ever listen to the little old public Ian!!! ?
"We" as in the ones that fell for it going out filling their tanks when actual Dates were not even announced!!.
they could say Milk next, and everyone would clear the shelves next!

Hind sight I guess is a wonderfull thing. but as has always been said, no dates are yet to be confirmed, so that should of stopped most people from fearing the worlds end.

Not so far... :sad1: Tis all my own fault, though, so I can't grumble too much.

They've just said on the news that fuel sales have risen by 82% in the last 24 hours. They interviewed a chap who works in a garage and he said they'd sold 3 days worth this morning!

Folks can't be blamed for looking after their own and their family's interests by making sure they have enough fuel. After me, you're first!

I don't understand why the current govn'ment made announcements encouraging us to stock up. And it's naive to think that we'll only fill up to two-thirds of a tank. I filled up again when I was down to three-quarters after yesterday's driving.

Traffic was exceptionally heavy today so I had to sit it out in D-mode, but at least I got 30 mpg.

But why? I can only gather from what i read that you use your car for 90% pleasure, so did you need to brim the tank again? (playing devils advocate of course)

Well that was close, running on fumes when I got to the garage and some muptard standing on the forecourt telling everyone they can only have £20 worth of go go juice? Got 13.42 litres for that, what f**king good is that. I know I'm adding to the panic but I AM going back out again later to get some more (if they have not run out).

I was running on fumes today by the time I managed to find a garage with any fuel at all. Only regular unleaded available, so topped up with 2x bottles of octane booster.

Stupid people filling up their cars when they have no need for the fuel. Are the government just trying to increase their tax books before the start of the new tax year? Makes you wonder.

....Because I need to be able to get to and from JKM next week (180m) and also Nottingham (480m). And because the queues were short and I got waved through for V-Power Petrol.
