Model/Toy collectors or Ford collectable peep's help needed
« on: March 26, 2012, 05:34:56 pm »
Hey Folks

Bit of a long shot

Today I've been having a bit of a tidy in the garage and I opened a box to find these

On the side of the packaging there is titled Ford Customer service division 19** calender collection

Now these 3 all seem to be numbered ####/1000 and have certificate of authentication etc so it got me thinking if they are worth anything?

They are very high quality and detailed in a perspex box, my father was given them years ago when he worked for Ford (He would get one every year) he has a few himself such as Escort Cosworth, Sierra cosworth, mustang's etc.

Anyone seen them before or have any idea what they are?

Yes I have googled them just cant find any info

Cheers

Ben

yup i know what these are  :happy2:

Do you still have the cardboard sleeve and polystyrene packaging for them? This will add to the overall value.

Obviously depending on who's after them when you sell them will depend on the price (it can go crazy high sometimes as theyre rare), but going on the 3 youve got there

The puma you'll get around £30-50+ for (more valuable to someone collecting the set than the individual piece)

The capri upwards of £100, attractive as an individual piece

The Cobra £60+ in the UK but more attractive to the USA market where you should get £200-400

The RS models though, they start fights on auction sites and they go anywhere from £300-£500

not seen any for sale for a while though, google "Ford Calender Collection" hope this helps  :happy2:

...and yes i collect 1:18 models, but not fords though

WooHoo  :star: :star: Cheers VC

Yeah I have the sleeves, Polystyrene boxes and certificate of authenticity etc

I have the Capri, Puma and Cobra to hand plus i'm certain my Father has atleast an Escort cossie, Sierra cossie, Old Lotus F1 car, Cougar and Mustang.

I'll have to do a bit more research then. I imagine Ebay would be best for these?

Yes ebay is the best, make sure you set to "international" when you sell them though.

Like Ive said the big money is in the RS models, do you have the RS200? that one is worth a bomb!!!

The cougar - £50+
The F1 - ive never seen one so not sure where to start on that value but i would assume it would be anything from £100 to the collectors
The mustang, thats desirable in the USA and an easy £250+

...like i said though buddy, the diamonds are the RS's...if you get a bidding war on those they go for serious money  :jumping:

These are rare, dont cut them free for silly money  :happy2:

i'll be keen to see how you get on too, they are extremely collectable - the bidding wars tend to happen between those trying to complete a collection vs those that want an individual model, they dont come up very often so if youre the only one selling them at the time then the price can pretty much be set at whatever you feel comfortable at, you will do well with them.

I collect batmobiles from the 1989 movie, especially the 1:18 versions, my most collectable model is worth £1500+ and no i'm not joking

Please post up your collection. The 1989 Batmobile is my fave, although the one from TAS looks pretty sweet.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

when the time comes it would be worth posting the auction links onto some of the more specialised ford and rs websites too  :happy2:

Ive got squillions of them, from huge lego versions right through to house phones  :ashamed:

I'll take some shots of my 1:18's as theyre my favourites, plus the biggie expensive one too when i get a chance

currently got my eye on a 1:18 batmobile signed by Michael Keaton, just gotta convince the mrs is worth the cost
