Apple guru required for a quick question
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:03:23 pm »
I've got ITunes on my desktop for my iPhone. My girlfriend is getting an iPhone so can she have a separate iTunes on the same computer or will it bunch it all together? I'm not that familiar with iTunes so it's probably a daft question. Thanks  :happy2:

If it's a Mac just set up two user accounts.

Essentially you can sync two iPhones to the same iTunes just fine, all back-up data and phone settings will be stored separately. You can select different music etc to sync to each phone from the same library - don't bother creating another account it just makes things more complicated!

I know what you mean but the thing is, our musical tastes differ quite substantially and we both have only 16gb on our phones. So I don't and she doesn't want a load of music that we aren't going to listen to clogging up our phones.  :happy2:

You don't have to, if all the music is in the same iTunes you can just select what syncs. Or create 2 playlists "His and Hers" and just sync one to each phone.
