So, I'm having my S3 intercooler fitted soon...

... and I was wondering whilst the front end is off what parts I should uprate whilst access is easy. I was thinking along the lines of pipework, engine mounts.
What else should I be considering?
Thanks,
S.

The onyl thing really that it will give better access to is the front of the engine. So you could upgrade the intercooler to throttle body pipe (although it's easy enough to do with the IC in place)
No need to remove the front to do engine mounts as there is one each side and one underneath.
It will be easier to replace all the coolant hoses for Silicone ones if you really wanted too. But they won't do anything other than reduce your bank balance.
So basically
Intercooler,
Turbo Discharge pipe and the hose that links the IC to the Discharge pipe
Intercooler to Throttle body pipe and the connecting hoses that link the IC to the Pipe and the Pipe to the Throttle Body.
That's about it off the top of my head unless your going to start doing stuff like ripping out the aircon etc (which imho unless your making a track slag don't bother)

I had the Neuspeed Hi-Flow Turbo Discharge and Intercooler pipes on my last vRS
SFS do a complete hose that links from the turbo to the IC and from the IC to the Throttle body. From what i remember they get good reviews but i personally just prefered the looks of the Neuspeed ones. Although they are fcuking expensive compared to the TSi one's
The Intercooler pipe doesn't yield much but i got 4bhp and 8-10lb/ft extra on JKM rollers with the Discharge pipe.
Forge do a set of the connecting pipes in either Red, Blue or Black.
The SFS is probably the better option as you only purchase 2 pipes rather than 5 by using Neuspeed and Forge. So should work out cheaper.

ok this is the bit that i'm unsure about - when looking for hoses and things should i be looking for S3 ones or A3 ones considering the IC is an S3 one?

As long as you have the S3 connection hoses with the cooler then they will fit the neuspeed turbo discharge intercooler pipes.
If you get the SFS ones then it doesn't matter as they fit with Jubilee Clamps.
If you get the forge one's then just check with forge they fit the S3 intercooler as iirc i don't think they do.

If you don't wan't Neuspeed this is the SFS kit i talked about.
However you would need to check with them if it fitted the A3. I'm sure it would but it would be better to check with them 100%
That kit retails at £249
