Looking at getting a Decatholon rockrider 8.1

Just after some advice, I'm a newbie to this but want to start cycling to work and the occasional forest day now and then. Has really good reviews and has a high spec for the price. Whats everyone's opinion or can you recommend something else?

Thanks everyone!!  :happy2:

Pretty nice spec for the price, I guess it all depends on exactly what you need it for and how often your going to use it.  I know some folk on here have bikes costing in the four figure bracket.  I recently purchased a similar spec Specialized rock hopper pro for £600 it does the job perfectly.  The shocks on the bike your looking at are actually better than mine.

Have you considered a 2nd hand one? £500 would buy you a decent 2011 high spec bike?

In short everything about that bike is Great apart from the name.  If your not a name whore you will be fine with that bike

Not fussed about the name bud. Been reading all the reviews about it and like you say its a very good spec for the money. Gonna be riding to working twice a week and do the occasional off road day so I think it should be right for my needs! Yeah might take a look a second hand ones!
