Mines mapped on revo stage 1 to run on 98 and above fuel. What will happen on 95 fuel?

The ECU will retard the timing so it will make a bit less power.... Other than that, not much.

So it isn't going to misfire or anything then?

The engine will just pull timing if its that effected using 95 fuel.

Just try not to come on boost.

Just looking up which report on super fuels 1.4 tsi got 5% power increase on v plus and my standard gti dyno run pulled 193 bhp running on 95 normal juice so I think standard cars have nothing to worry about. I guess the margins on tunes are tighter though.

Engine catastrophe,

But serious note, Datalogs from my car with 97 and 99ron, the difference was dramatic, timing was being pulled all across the cylinders, where 99ron it reduced it to safe levels.

Would you be on WOT @ 95 ron fuel with  a 99ron map ? Good luck.

Wasn't there a comparison done between V-Power, Momentum 99 and BP 97 and didn't V-Power come last, with BP 2nd? Think the tests included fuel economy and a dyno run

:popcornsoda: lovely thread, can anyone verify the above?

It was done some time ago by Thorney Motorsport and/or EVO Magazine.

I think in EVO V-Power won but for Thorney Tesco Finest won. BP or 95 unleaded was always last.

The ECU will retard timing to safe levels, its perfectly fine to run a mapped car on 95, but you won't be getting the best performance out of it.
