BMW approved buying help please

I will have to remember what you say about them pricing it too high when he says about them dropping the price by a grand, he's bound to come out with it again in the morning.

you havent gone there to look at a £13k car youve gone there to look at a £12k car

...to put it in context i could say to you well it used to be £xx.xx new..... means nothing.

Wasn't to fussed about nav, but I did really want xenons but any cars in my budget had too many miles for my liking. Can xenons be retro fitted on an E90??

Not 100% BMW ones can be fitted, but there's a load of aftermarket ones (such as Depo) that look almost the same.

That's true VC, I am a sucker for falling for all that old chat, gets me every time.

Have a look around at other BMW dealerships online and see if there are any cheaper. If there are, get them to price match. Isnt it end of quarter nearly as well? Bargaining power in your favour, so they'll be looking to get them sales. Be prepared to walk away as well. Good luck!

Does the BMW site list all approved used cars or do some just  dealerships just put cars on their own websites?? I have only checked bmw.co.uk

I mean will some dealerships not put their cars on the main BMW site but advertise them on their own?? Sytners jct600 for example

other dealerships normally will use the national network when you challenge a price, worth trying though

All used cars from BMW have a pre sales check, & if anything is needed its replacled/serviced before sale.
they must have 12months MOT aswell.

12 months warranty is a standard used car warranty, they may extend warranty at your own cost this probably won't get thrown in.
The warranty is a good warranty, but its different to manufacturers warranty, so not everything is covered.

I think the price is reasonable for a dealership

Thanks perky85, I am gonna try and get 2 year warranty thrown in, worth a go, can only say no. They have put new front discs and pads on, serviced it and 2 new tyres so it shouldn't want for anything.

I am the same as you, I think it's very reasonably priced for a BMW dealer car

Well, I am back home without becoming the proud owner of a 330d, believe it or not they would budge much from their 11990 asking price. I got there and we went straight out on a test drive, lovely car, really wanted to buy it. Went back to the showroom and started talking figures, i settled on 6000 trade in for my golf, got them up from 5500, I think it's a pretty decent trade in value to be honest. So we turn to the BMW, pointed out the bits I wanted sorting on condition of sale, was nothing major, just 2 little marks on the door sills and scratch on the back bumper where something has caught it being taken out of the boot. The car was in really good nick.  I was happy to pay 11500 for it but offered 11300, he scratched his head and went away to talk to his "manager", returned and said no can do as they are giving me more for my car than they wanted to, so no room for manoeuvre on price of BMW, said I would pay 11500 + tank of diesel+ they tint rear windows,  away he went to his manager again, to come back and say no deal, he said the best they can do is 11750 with nothing thrown in, so i turned it down and walked away quite gutted.

So tempted to ring them back and see what can be done, but i don't want to pay more than 11500 for it with diesel and tints thrown in.

If he let you walk, then there's maybe not a lot in the car for him - I guess you sit and wait to see if he calls?

Maybe ring back tomorrow morning and re-offer 11,500, making it clear you'll give your card details for a deposit as soon as he says yes.

It is priced keenly, I will admit that. He said they had put quite a bit into the car, just serviced it,  new front discs and pads, 2 new tyres and it was already supposed to be getting the small scratches done on the back bumper. That must add upto a few quid. the rear discs and pads are virtually brand new, I don't see the car wanting for anything at all really.

Even my mrs was telling me to agree at 11750 and she don't care 2 hoots about cars, she loved it.

Will call in the morning and see how it goes, hoping he calls later today with a change of mind
