My MFSW buttons all worked after installing the RND-510 (without intervention from VCDS)

What did you have before Clive??

Sorry just seen this question.. I upgraded from an RCD-500 (non-mp3 version) car is MY07 and I have a * button on the MFSW

Eagerly watching this for any results as it seems likely that this is the same problem I'm having - early MFSW that worked with MFD2 not functioning fully with RNS-510.

Mine has the later steering wheel as above ^^

The problem is the steering controller module was updated when the RNS510 came out.Pre 08 cars wernt fitted with that correct module.

Been to dealers this morning and they are in full agreement and part is being sent for. When its in, ill take Phylis back to get it fixed :happy2:

im just hoping vw take this into consideration and get the right steering wheel controller to do rns buttons and cruise.

it has been known for cruise to stop working after a new steering wheel controller is fitted (for the purposes of MFSW buttons)

id make vw say "yes it will work with your cruise control" so if it doesnt you can hold it against them and get them to sort it! ;)

i have given them the CORRECT part number Jay, as Hedge (ian) was round my house last night and he found the differences between the two model year cars. (08) v (56) .So yes that shouldnt happen. As long as they sort My Nav buttons, cruise, Bluetooth phone/DSG paddles, ill be happy. :happy2:

Good chance it'll be put less then that. Module is reletively cheap, and to remove wheel and replace would take an hour approx.
Might get the part under warranty?? not sure.
Underlying fact is if it costs that then thats ok. The Nav cost me £480. My old MFD2 will fetch close to £300, so to get an RNS510 installed for total costs around £300, i cant argue
