And may i add you state they are distinctive and unique part of the GTI and yet you spend millions on modifying your GTI but drive round in a scruffy old pair of Monza's, Getting them back to pristine condition would have been priority number one for me.

I've spent time looking for a good refurbisher who could
powdercoat them - I don't want to have to refurb them every year to lose the dreaded white worm. I've now found one - Pristine. No more diamond-cut+lacquer+white worm for me!
Working with VWR needs long term flexibility so it took time to get into their workshop for the Quaife. Plus my KoniFSD shocks need replacing and I've had the cracked manifold/turbo problem etc - So, looking pretty pretty isn't a priority and never has been with me - I only bother to clean my car when it gets dirty. I like to limit my monthly spend on my car.
I ran around for over a year with a deep gouge down to the plastic of my roof spoiler, and for months with chips on my aftermarket front splitter. Why does this bother some people? (Mostly those who are heavily into detailing). I'm heavily into driving rather than detailing but I'll probably pay someone to professionally detail my car next Spring.
