The Official APR v3.1 Results Thread
« on: April 24, 2012, 04:55:16 pm »
Hello Everyone,

There has been quite a bit of a stir going on as of late regarding APR's v3.1 ECU Recalibration for factory equipped Ko4 turbocharger engines.

APR has recently released v3.1 for all ED30/Pirelli Edition's, SLC R's, Golf R's, Scirocco R's, TT-S' and S3's developed, tested and approved for the UK market.

APR UK's Golf R was the primary development car so we will start with the results of it thus far.

2010 VW Golf R DSG Stage 2+

APR v3.1 ECU Recalibration
APR High Pressure Fuel Pump
VWR Induction System
VWR Turboback Exhaust
VWR Anti-roll Bars
VWR Lower Engine Mount
VWR Coilover Suspension
VWR Braking System
Haldex Performance Controller

Our first timed testing event was a few weeks ago at Santa Pod Raceway with yours truly behind the wheel:

Some of you may have seen Jonny's thread here http://www.vagoc.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=10722&showall=1 and as we had planned to run the Golf R at the MLR 30-130mph day we ended up at Bruntingthorpe instead.

With Jonny behind the wheel and some help with the launches from a wet surface we were able to achieve the following:

As we finish up our dyno installation project at our office in Milton Keynes, we will release Official Power Figures for v3.1 but here are some unofficial results in the meantime:

SEAT Leon Cupra R Stage 2+ APR v3.1 APR HPFP in Denmark:

Please feel free to update this thread with any other performance measurements you may have achieved with APR's v3.1.  Eventually I will build a database in this thread to document all of the various dyno graphs, 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, etc.

You just need to post the timing slip in this thread http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,9244.msg512493.html#new then you'll be added to the 1/4 mile leaderboard

355bhp from stage 1?

its not Stage1 its Stage1 +    with HPFP and CAI

I cant have Stage2+ flashed because my downpipe hasnt been fitted yet

Two other runs after this ran 342 and 341, So i usually take an average of the 3 runs, i personally thing the 355 is quite high aswell i was hoping for 325-330 so was quite shocked when these figures came out.

The Stage1+ map is a vast improvement over Stage1 aswell, on the road its totally different, lots of Mid Range grunt now

Sounds a lot to me. 350 is stage 2+ territory.

A stage 1+ map should perform better than a stage 2 map. I guess in terms of performance it really it ought to be called stage 2+- or the current stage 2 should be the 1+ and the current 1+ should be the stage 2.  If you follow my fuzzy logic!
Golf R gone.
