« on: April 01, 2012, 12:50:35 pm »

My car is a 2008 Gti with the 3D raised emblem...I am after the boot mechanism as my painting of it doesnt look good...anyone know the right part number and price please?  i have the silver vw emblem already so dont need that.  this is quite urgent, so any help muchly appreciated.

I think its one of these 3C5 827 469 D / 3C5 827 469 C

iirc they are around £115 from stealers so I'd keep my eye on ebay as they come up from time to time.

really...thought they were more like £59...ouch!

whats the best stuff to use on plastic to fill in scratches as it is those that can be seen through the paint?

this is the part number i used it will only fit the 3D style though, it will be the same as the mk6 one with beveled edges

Part number: 5K0 853 630B ULM = £20.

if the previous poster sells me his boot mechanism and the emblem is any good then i might have a spare brand new one.

I've sent you the pics mate.

I've not cleaned it or anything but it's mint.  I've just checked and they are £105 new.  If you want this one then you can send me the money to post it to you and donate £25 to the forum collection -
