Well, about time I updated this.

Its was away/broken since October last year. The turbo broke - not only did the bearings start going, there was also a pretty epic crack in the housing.
So, it was 'upgrade' time. Went for a GTX2867 as per the APR Stage 3+ GTX kit. About the same top end, but noticeably better spool up.

As part of the upgrade, also got a new Carbonio closed air intake, and APR 155bar fuel rail valve, and a new fuel rail pressure senor to let a bit more fuel through.

Gearbox was also 'rebuilt' at AKS, not much needed doing really, just replacing a few minor cheap bits, more preventative work, whilst it was apart.

Then it went over to VRS Northampton. Needed a new N75 valve, gear linkage cable needed replacing, and most of all, the ESP needed sorting.
Since having the 4WD, the ESP has never worked properly. But after many days of fault finding, it was traced to a dodgy wire, and one of the sensors upside down, and now its perfect"

Oh, still has a minor water leak, and possibly oil leak still   :signLOL:

Thank you John

So, yes I did take it to R-tech for a dyno and logging session recently, as the car didnt quite feel as quick as it 'should' be.

Here is the graph:

Its pretty quick, but should be making 450hp with the Stage 3+ kit I have.

Strangely enough though, the APR map has switchable programs via the cruise control stalk, and I went to 'change' the map the other day to ensure it was on the '98 RON' map, and it indicated it wasn't for some reason! But there was no way of telling what map it was on. So perhaps it was only running on the 95RON map which I also have. (Wouldnt of been on the 104RON map as it would of been pulling back lots of timing).
There doesn't seem to be much difference though on a quick drive after 'changing' the map program.

There is a whole new map due in a free weeks too with new features like the motorsport limiter and new boost control, so that should be interesting to try. Will do a before and after dyno hopefully.

Brake update time.

Ive had the AP Racing kit for nearly 7 years now, and they served me well.
It was the mk5 specific kit they do including 6 pot calipers, and 330x28mm rotors and bells. Extremely light weight.

Ive found though, especially recently they seem to be getting to hot, thus decreasing the life of the discs and pads.

So I'd thought I try something new:
I bought some second hand TTRS calipers from Ebay for £300, and also the TTRS fully floating 'upgrade' kit from Alex Kerr (made by Vagbremtechnic).
This includes:
-362x32mm Rotors.
-Custom bells
-Custom brackets
-HEL Braided lines

Also Picked up some Pagid Blue RS4-2 pads to go with this:

And here they are on the car after I fitted them:

I still needed my existing 10mm Spacers to clear the calipers though  :happy2:

I shall find out next weekend, with a few sessions at Lydden.
Seemed to have cooked my brakes last year at Lydden, was very hot though!

Heres something you dont see very often.. Pictures of my engine bay:

Replaced the underbonnet soundproofing as the old one was all mouldy and saggy due to the common water leak problem.
To try and stop this problem this time, I painted the underside of it with rubberised paint.
