Fast starts
« on: April 03, 2012, 01:48:08 am »
Hi guys recently bought a gti mkv dsg and so far i am loving it. Its been tuned and i called up the tuner and they say its around 280-290bhp. Now a problem i am having is from standstill i constantly get wheelspin and i am modulating the throttle to avoid spinning and wheel hopping besides going easier on the throttle which i am learning :p anyone have any other tips on launching off the line or simply getting a better start! Would be much appreciated :)

Oh also how do i add pictures into my posts?!

My favourite tip for using launch control is.....

...don't use launch control  It puts you into a frenzy of wheelspin.

Just try to get into 2nd and 3rd as quick as you can to keep hold of your traction  :drinking:

Just squeeze the throttle in first gear, then whack it in 2nd and floor it.

for best acceleration, launch control on, ESP off, S mode and hold on :signLOL:

yes all DSG cars have. GTI cars do, but not all the VAG range with DSG offer this function, ie Derv cars

You dont get a button.    place gear lever in S-mode, ESP/off left foot on the brake pedal, with your right foot (obviously )floor the accelerator, if it wont climb over 3000RPM ish then you are launch control engaged.

You need a clutch, that'll sort your wheelspin out!!!

Don't forget the car needs to be warmed up before you try this. As does the DSG box. Whatever you do don't do it from cold!
