Traffic Cops on Watch HD
« on: April 05, 2012, 09:44:40 pm »
Just watching this and they stopped a guy in an Audi TT for doing 116 in a 70. Took them 10 mins to catch up with him and he was also doing 60 through a 30.

When they stop him it turns out it wasn't his car, he works for an Audi garage and the car had just been in for a service and he was delivering it back to the customer.

They gave him a summons as they said he was too far above the threshold to deal with by way of a fixed penalty.

This probably goes on far more than we want to think about with our cars  :fighting:

P.S. Interestingly when they were sitting in a lay-by clocking the speed of cars the cop said they're never really interested in folk doing 5, 10, 15 mph above the speed limit (it was a 70 mph zone). He said it was the folk doing a good bit more than that which they class as dangerous.

My mate was in traffic for 9 years and he said they rarely stopped anyone going 85mph or less on motorway as it was not worth the paperwork and what with speedo calibration thresholds (10% plus 3mph) that gives you 80mph anyway, he said those doing 90mph+ were the only ones generally stopped, but they stop anyone doing 95+ he told me.

I tested this out a few times  :happy2: passed coppers at 80mph never even gave me a second look  :happy2:
