« on: May 10, 2009, 02:18:40 pm »
hey chaps, car goin into stealers 2moro for them to have a look at the aircon (isnt blowing cold). just wanted to know if i will get charged anything for labour etc??? cars under warrenty 56-plate gti & only had it for 9 weeks. following a previous thread on here i want them to check the compressor rather than just tell me it needs a re-gas!!

They will do a full dye and compression test on the aircon I had this done but not under the warranty. I needed an aircon pipe changing and it cost me £350, but for you they should do it free has it is under warranty.

But don't worry they will check it for you not just visually.

Cheers

Darren

and 2 sets of door seals

teething problems!  Also it probably could have been fixed but the mechanics technicians just replace the lot when its under warranty.

I've had the compressor & condensor replaced on my 2005 2.0 fsi (non turbo).
I was advised to have them both replaced as the compressor had seized and
this can cause fragments to remain in the system which could damage a new compressor.
Anyway as i was out of warranty it cost me £1400 all in.
This was at an independant by the way.
