Unbranded sports cat downpipes
« on: April 06, 2012, 07:55:12 pm »
So then, my car's apparently still not running 100% after discovering that it was only making 130bhp-ish on Awesome's rollers. Might be a blocked cat.

I was saving up for a BCS downpipe sports cat but haven't got the funds together yet, and I'd rather get my car running right. What are people's views on an unbranded sports cat down pipe, or welding a universal sports cat into the OEM downpipe?

Pipewerx (Liverpool based) make a fantastic Down pipe & sports cat which will mate to your OEM cat back.

The quality is superb  :happy2: they are on eBay for £500 delivered. Otherwise you could get one of those £260 DP & SC on eBay which are unbranded but I'm not sure of the quality. . .

if i go aftermarket i'm going with BCS. i've heard good things about Pipewerx too, and it just comes down to the fact that Nigel from BCS is a forum member and i like to spend my money with forum members.

i've put a bid in for an unbranded one - they've got a buy it now one for £250 delivered, but they've also got an auction which i've put a max bid on for what i'm happy to pay (which is a fair bit less than the asking price). if i get it then i won't have wasted enough for me to worry about, if i don't then well i'll just have to keep saving for a BCS or get one right away

let's see what happens, one way or another the next two weeks will be interesting  :happy2:

Nope, that's what it was at R-Tech for, but the boys did a few checks and it's still down on power! Nick said that because it feels normal low down and I don't generally drive as if my hair's on fire I wouldn't have noticed it.

Anyhow fingers crossed it's just a blocked cat and a cheap downpipe will work as a temporary fix
