GIAC remap gone again! Bloody VW
« on: April 15, 2011, 06:58:29 pm »
Timing belt changed today, now power is back to stock and the flashloader won't work. I take it leaving the car with them in 305bhp mode was what made VW reflash the car? Because the timings were different?

Had my cambelt changed 2 weeks ago and my car is fine. I did tell them however the car was mapped (went to them in Revo stock guise) and that no ECU updates were to be applied. To be honest if you haven't told them the car was mapped and not to update the ECU I don't think you can complain really. A good dealer will apply any ECU updates when in the workshop, so you cannot fault them for that.

It had an ECU update last year when serviced. I kept quiet about the map this time because they are yet to bill me for an ABS pump repair which VW offered free parts and 50% labour goodwill.

Anyway I am liking the stock engine map for some reason
