I adore the golf r, but for me 40k is a huge hit for a car ,especially for a normal working class person. I have never been in a position to buy a brand new car. Tbh the most i have ever spent on a car is £16 which was a mk4 gttdi 130 with loads of extras. Had it 3 months as it bored me to death. Tbh the mk5 is probably the best and most solid car for the money i have driven and the longest i have owned a car, 18months, Would i buy another mk5 , hell yeah, tbh i wouldn't buy any other mk6 as they just dont appeal to me. But the r is another story.
it just seems to be styled perfectly.
