Bhp and torque achievable from k04 conversion on a gti
« on: April 10, 2012, 12:30:08 am »
As above what kind of figures should I be seeing with the s3 turbo injectors and s3 intercooler?

Id be interested to know this too.. What bhp is your car running at the moment? You had a look at prices for those mods?

Depends what stage of tune you go for. 2+ should be around 340-350. Stage 1 around the 300 mark

Just a quick question - Im interested in figures too - but could you not just get the ed30 injectors and intercooler - wouldn't it be more cost effective just to buy a doner engine from a ed30 or s3 (just spitballing)

350 bhp are not realistic on gti with K04....

I have gti with K04 and saw 330 bhp and 340 lb of torque. 350-360 bhp are for ed30 with stage 2+ stage of tune which are possible thanks to slightly different internals then gti...

If you haven't started modding yet the more efficient option could be to get s3 / ed30 engine in the first place

Depends on whose dyno you use...

When measured on the same dyno there isn't really a difference between the 2.

I thought the internals were the same, just different injectors?  The S3 has tougher internals iirc...... :popcornsoda:

I think you can, James here on this forum has managed 397 BHP with water meth and without pretty sure he was hitting not much less then 350 but of course it depends on the car?

The GTI's AXX engine with S3/ED 30/Cupra (same engine) turbo-Injectors-downpipe-intake-upgraded HPFP will see you between 310-330bhp and 440nm realisticaly and reliably.  :drinking:

ED30 and GTI has the same IC.

I have done app. 65.000km on my AXX with K04 conversion.
I have just fitted a Cupra BWJ engine instead and can only recommend it if you can source an engine at a reasonable price  :happy2:

Over the top mod list ;o)

From what I've heard the AXX & BWA with a K04 bolted on will make more than an ED30 / S3 with the same mods - apparently due to the higher compression ratios over the S3 / ED30.  :surprised:
