Hello Benny

1. Tell them ur gay... It calms them down straight away nd they feel more comfortable.  :rolleye:
2. Dont do fake props... It feels fake. Take them outside and shoot pics while they not looking...
3. Be cool. Dont make it feel formal or ask them to smile cos I find those smiles usually suck...

Ok now we get technical:

1. If girls... Tone the sharpness of the camera done. With girls you want a soft outline and gentle backgrounds.
2. Play with colour. Contrast can be good.
3. Try neutral front on lighting...
4. Ask the girls to look at the camera and not at you.
5. Try get the girls to dress in clothing that is the same hue or colour...
6. Play with black and white and colour cropping. Can be good for the pic and looks modern...

Try googling Portrait Photography and you will see there are tons of tips out there. But most important I feel is to make them feel comfortable.

Gape shots FTW.

Go for some 80's retro chic theme, you know - poodle perms, neon eye make up, boobs that look like 2 wombles peering over a balcony and a f*nny like a barber's bin.
Sideways yo!

We are doing this all the time  I am usually just for backup and for controlling things and someties do the shooting on my own to

The latest result which we did in airport is seen bellow (I was orginizing things for this shooting and done some on my one just they are not so good as the one bellow) :

http://photocicle.blogspot.com/2009/03/nika.html

My advice is that first you can not be nervous and don't tell them that this is your first time  :embarrassed:

Tell some jokes to the model if there are any other peoples there just kick them out, leave only the on you need for flash, umbrellas to caring it around.

Hair and makeup are important! Spend some money on this or tell the girl to do it alone.
