sports cat
« on: April 10, 2012, 04:09:40 pm »
Hi folks, have any of you tried the sports cats available on ebay from 2fast2cool? they seem like a bargin at £239, my worry is they may cause the EML to come on as they are only 100 cell.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-MK5-GTI-2-0-FSI-TURBO-STAINLESS-STEEL-3-SPORTS-CAT-EXHAUST-PIPE-/220959138790?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AGolf&hash=item337230e3e6

i was looking at these too. they often have a standard auction for them and they tend to go for around £50 less

100 cell doesn't usually make the EML come on, but if it does a remap will sort that out  :happy2:

I would say 100 Cel will more than likely make the light come on.

200 Cel usually doesn't depending on how the car is driven.

I'd be more worried whether 100CEL will pass an MOT...?

I would be more worried about the quality of the cat used at that price. Probably chinese ceramic cat as seen for sale on Alibaba.com for £25 a piece.

No I did not bother as nobody gave me any feedback on the item, Iam still on the hunt for a sports cat, however I grude paying over £500 for a miltek or pipewerx. Iam not fussed about it passing the mot emissions as my mate works at a test station and he will get it through I just dont want the EML coming on so if anyone on the forum has tryed these Ebay sports cats can you let us know if there any good.

If your mate works at a test station does it matter if the EML (CEL) light is on?

Simple job for a tuner to remove the EML due to a sports cat / decat.
