Smoked Repeaters

Smoked repeaters went on today!

Heard they were hard to change, fiddly yes but not difficult. Found a guide on another forum which helps if anyone is thinking of doing this little mod. bit by bit getting her more to my liking!

Yeah, do it mate. Really is not that hard. Just take your time, I found it easier to remove the mirror covers first which makes it much easier to unattatch glass and other parts.

what did you use to prise the mirror covers off?

They just pull off. I used a trim removal tool (but any sturdy piece plastic will do) in-between mirror case and repeater to start to lift it and can easily be lifted up around mirror case nearest to the car as this part is not attached underneath, bit of wiggling around thin part of mirror case at bottom around mirror and she should be "lose". Will come off with some gentle pressure upwards and away from car.

Got a set of 4 trim tools from eBay, cost no more than £5 (I think). Very useful if you need to remove anything in the car. I used for removing trim around stereo and side air vent removal as well as the mirrors, very useful. Just type in "trim tool" and you should find some.

Fitted, first one was a pain but the second was a lot easier, worth the effort though.

Nice one. Think it makes a nice subtle difference over the OEM ones in my opinion.

it is worth trying to put a piece of felt or foam on the new ones to match the OEM ones as my wing mirrors now whistle as certain speeds!!

In short, yes.
 I transferred the strip over from the original repeaters onto the smoked repeaters. Did as described in the thread I saw on another forum:-
